Between these two colors of rain boots they had in my size, I was thinking forest green would be the safer choice...but no, fuchsia is definitely a more fun color to liven up a rainy day. As I was about to change my mind again, a Costco employee dropped off a Hunter box on the stack of rain boots next to me (even though they didn't have any Hunter boots for sale, it must have been a return). Not only was I excited to see that the box was marked with my size, but I was thrilled that the boots were indeed my size and the color was a dark navy blue...woo-hoo!!!

Hunter Original Tall Wellington Rain Boots - Navy
Since I have been on a self-imposed boot ban that allows me to purchase boots as a "necessity", I took a peek at some rain boots I stumbled upon while shopping at Costco. They had three different colors of rain boots for sale: black, fuchsia and dark green. After searching through stacks of boxes and finding mismatched or missing boots in the boxes marked "black" in my size, I gave up and decided to look closer at forest green and fuchsia.

Fumi Purse Hook Bracelet
When the Fumi Purse Hook Bracelet deal popped up on Living Social last week, I decided to give it a try. After all, it seemed like a wonderful idea and the special price of $12 for a $25 value made it an offer I just couldn't pass up. Now the hard part - deciding what color to order. Silver? Gold? Pewter? Black? Brown? Based on my current bag inventory, I decided on silver...although gold was a close second.
The first use of my silver purse hook was on a day cruise on the M.S. Dixie in Lake Tahoe, California. I found it to function very well as a purse hook, but as a bracelet it was too large for me and my 6" wrists. The Fumi Purse Hook is pretty substantial and solid, which is terrific in supporting the weight of a heavy bag. However, it's bulky to wear as a bracelet and I wasn't fond of how it looked hanging from my purse handle, so I just store it in a Tiffany & Co. jewelry case and toss it into my purse.
UPDATE 12/26/13: These purse hooks are so convenient and such a great value through Living Social, I ended up ordering a second one in gold. Just received it today!
